Why the First Day of Ski Season Wrecks Your Knees
Everyone who skis here knows the feeling. The first proper day of the season. Conditions are good, you have been waiting months, and you ski from first lift to last because that is what you came for.
Then you get back to the car and your legs are shaking. The next morning you cannot get down the stairs without holding the rail, and your knees are the loudest part of it. Most people put that down to being out of ski shape, which is partly right and misses what is actually happening.
